Marner Just Posted a Hat Trick and Vegas Took Control of This Series

The Golden Knights are one win away from the Western Conference Finals, and it's because Mitch Marner absolutely went off in Game 3 against Anaheim. We're talking a natural hat trick, the kind of performance that reminds you why he's leading the entire playoffs in both points and goals right now. Vegas now sits with a 2-1 series lead, and the Ducks are staring down a mountain they might not be able to climb.

Marner's Playoff Dominance Is Impossible to Ignore

This isn't just a hot streak. Marner is running away with the playoff scoring race after his three-goal night in Anaheim. He's doing it on the biggest stage, in the second round when every possession matters and every mistake gets punished. One of those goals came on the power play, showing he can hurt teams from multiple angles. The Golden Knights are built around this kind of production, and right now, Marner is delivering exactly when it counts.

Vegas Takes Control While Anaheim Starts Slow Again

The Ducks came out flat in Game 3, and that's a killer in the playoffs. Eichel got the party started early for Vegas, setting up Theodore for the opening goal in the first period. By the time Sennecke got Anaheim on the board in the third, it was already too late to mount any real comeback. That slow start is a pattern the Ducks can't afford to repeat if they want to stay alive in this series.

What's Next

Vegas is sitting pretty with a 2-1 advantage and momentum headed back home. One more win and they're punching their ticket to the Conference Finals. The Ducks have to find a way to slow down Marner and get out of the gate faster, or this series is done.
