Massachusetts Hockey Has HOF Nominations Open and Emerald City Fans Are Absolutely Baffled

Alright, Seattle, listen up, because I'm seeing red, white, and blue, and it ain't our flag. We're here, bleeding green and blue, right? We live for every pitch Cal Raleigh calls at T-Mobile Park, every bone-jarring hit for the Seahawks at Lumen Field, every siren wailing at Climate Pledge Arena when our Kraken score. We're glued to what's happening right now, in early season MLB and NFL action, wondering about team form and emerging stars. So imagine my absolute shock when I scroll through the latest sports news and see what's supposedly hitting the wires: "Nominations are open for the 2026 Hall of Fame Induction" courtesy of, wait for it, "Massachusetts Hockey." Are you kidding me? My blood pressure just spiked, 12s. We've got real sports happening, and this is the headline?

Seriously, What Is This Program About?

Look, I'm all for hockey. You know I am. We adore our Kraken, right? We're hanging on every puck Matty Beniers chases and every save Joey Daccord makes. But when you're scrolling, desperately searching for any insight on our team's early season trends or how Jordan Eberle is leading the charge, seeing talk about a "CCM HP FINAL 40 PROGRAM" from Massachusetts Hockey is just... baffling. It's like showing up to T-Mobile Park expecting a Julio Rodriguez moonshot and getting handed a brochure for youth soccer tryouts. And then there's the "2025-2026 State tournament Dates & locations." My friend, the only "dates and locations" I care about right now are the Mariners' next road trip or the Seahawks' upcoming schedule. It's April, folks! We're watching player performance, team health, and what Mike Macdonald is cooking up for our Seahawks. We are absolutely not planning state tournament trips for next season in a different state.

A Hall of Fame That Doesn't Include Our Heroes

And let's get back to this "2026 Hall of Fame Induction." Every city has its legends, I get it. Every sport has its history. But for us, the 12s, our Hall of Famers are players who've worn our colors, fought on our fields, and skated on our ice. We're thinking about the legacies being built by guys like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, or Vince Dunn *now*. We're wondering what kind of early season magic Brian Fleury's offense will show with Sam Darnold under center, or if Cristian Roldan's recent USMNT call-up will fuel even more Sounders FC fire. This "2026 Hall of Fame" from Massachusetts Hockey, while undoubtedly important to them, feels like a universe away. It's a loud reminder of how much noise is out there when all we want is the clear signal of Seattle sports, pure and unfiltered.

So, what's next? We shake our heads, we take a deep breath, and we keep our eyes peeled for the real news. The kind of news that gets us pumped for the Mariners' next game, the Seahawks' upcoming battles, or the Kraken's relentless push. We need updates on Jordan Morris, not some program from afar. This is Seattle On Tap, and we're here for Seattle sports. Let's keep the focus where it belongs: on our teams, our city, and our undeniable passion. Go Hawks! Go M's! Go Kraken! And Sounders FC too!
