Mikel Oyarzabal Bagged Two Goals in Three Minutes and Spain's World Cup Message Is Loud and Clear

Okay, Seattle, listen up! If you thought Spain was just gonna roll over after that Cape Verde draw, you need to open your eyes! Luis de la Fuente's crew absolutely *demolished* Saudi Arabia 4-0 on Sunday, and the message is crystal clear: the European champions are here to win the World Cup. Doubters? What doubters? This squad is showing up to play, and it's fantastic to watch!

Yamal's 45-Minute Masterclass Sent a Message

Remember Barcelona's superstar Lamine Yamal? The guy who was eased back after a hamstring injury and only came on as a second-half substitute against Cape Verde? Well, he got his first start in two months against the Saudis, and even though he only played the first half, he was pure fire. He opened the scoring from an Oyarzabal cross only 10 minutes in, bagging his first World Cup goal! He tore the Saudis apart, no joke. De la Fuente says Yamal is in "perfect condition" to lead their World Cup quest and could have played longer if the score hadn't been so commanding. Leaving him hungry for more? Smart move, coach.

Oyarzabal: The Unsung Hero Delivering When It Counts

While Yamal grabbed some headlines, let's talk about Mikel Oyarzabal. This dude is on a different level. He not only set up Yamal's opener, but then he went off, striking *twice* in three minutes himself! That's

14 goals in his last 13 international appearances, people! This isn't just a flash in the pan. This is the same guy who scored the winning goal in the Euro 2024 final against England. De la Fuente practically gushed about him, saying "People who understand football rate him incredibly highly," and that Oyarzabal "has a massive impact on the national team." He believes Mikel is "capable of making history for Spanish football." You gotta love it when a key player delivers like that.

33 Unbeaten Games and Zero Tolerance for Doubt

Look, the whispers after that 0-0 Cape Verde draw were out there. But De la Fuente wasn't having any of it. He called it "absurd to doubt this team that has not lost in 33 consecutive games." Thirty-three! That's over three years without a competitive loss. When criticism comes, he sees it as pushing people to "bring out their best." They certainly did against Saudi Arabia. This is a team with courage and pride, and they just proved people wrong in a huge way. They are absolutely in contention for a second World Cup title, and anyone saying otherwise isn't watching the same game. Spain has taken an "important step for what lies ahead" in this World Cup. With Yamal back to full strength and Oyarzabal absolutely lighting it up, they are a force. This squad is ready to go for the competition win in the coming weeks. Get ready, Emerald City, because this World Cup got much more interesting!
