Minneapolis Snags the 2028 NFL Draft, and the 12s Are Already Demanding More!
Alright, Seattle, buckle up because we just got some major NFL news dropping, and while it's not directly about our beloved Seahawks hitting the field this week, it's something every single 12 needs to hear. Minneapolis, Minnesota, just landed the 2028 NFL Draft. Seriously! When you hear about other cities snatching up these massive league events, it makes you wonder: when is it going to be our turn in the Emerald City?
The Draft Lands Elsewhere, Again!
The announcement that Minneapolis will host the 2028 NFL Draft is big for them, but it's a gut punch for us. Imagine the energy around Lumen Field, the buzz through the streets of Seattle, with fans from all 32 teams descending on our city! We've got the passionate fanbase, the killer venue, and the best atmosphere in sports. Seeing a city like Minneapolis get the nod for 2028 just highlights what we're missing out on. Can't you just picture our future stars, or even existing talents like Sam Darnold, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, or Rashid Shaheed, making an appearance on a massive stage right here? It’s what our Head Coach Mike Macdonald and Offensive Coordinator Brian Fleury would love to see for the future of the league, and for our city.

And if that wasn't enough to get the gears turning, Nashville also secured the rights to host Super Bowl LXIV in 2030. Super Bowl LXIV! That's another huge event heading to another city, and it just reinforces the question: what does Seattle need to do to get a Super Bowl at Lumen Field? The 12s deserve to host the biggest game on the planet. We're in the early stages of our NFL regular season, watching our Seahawks develop, hoping for big things from guys like Cooper Kupp. These kind of announcements from around the league really make you think about the grand stage of the NFL and how much Seattle wants to be at the center of it all. It’s not just about the games we play, it’s about the presence we have in the entire football world.
What's Next for Seattle?
So, while the headlines today are about Minneapolis getting the Draft and Nashville landing the Super Bowl, it’s a clear signal to our city: we need to be louder, push harder, and show the NFL that Seattle is ready to host these marquee events. As we gear up for the rest of our regular seasons across all our teams, from the Mariners to the Kraken, and especially our Seahawks, let's keep that fire burning. The league knows we've got the best fans. Now it's time to prove we have the best stage for the biggest moments. What does this mean for our long game? It means we keep fighting for our spot at the top, on and off the field. You know what's at stake: our city's reputation, and the chance to show the world what the Emerald City is all about!
