Most-Watched NBA Finals Since 1998: New York's 53-Year Curse Is FINALLY Broken

Can you even believe what we just witnessed? Seriously, if you blinked, you missed one of the most insane NBA Finals in decades, and trust me, the Emerald City was buzzing right alongside the rest of the country. The New York Knicks, yeah, *those* Knicks, just shattered a 53-year title drought, clinching the 2026 NBA Championship in a series against the Spurs that had everyone on the edge of their seats. This wasn't just any Finals, folks. It was the most-watched NBA Finals since 1998, a testament to how wild this whole run was. And at the heart of it all? Jalen Brunson, who sealed the deal and earned Finals MVP with an absolutely monstrous 45-point effort. What a show!

The Canyon of Heroes Just Went Wild

You know that feeling when your team *finally* does it? New York is absolutely losing its mind right now. The Knicks threw an epic championship parade through the legendary Canyon of Heroes, and the city pulled out all the stops to celebrate their 2026 Champs. They even handed over the keys to NYC at the parade, which, honestly, is pretty cool. Jalen Brunson, fresh off that 45-point Finals MVP performance, delivered a parade message that probably still has fans hyped. Think about it: 53 years. Fifty-three years of waiting, hoping, maybe even crying into their jerseys. This team ended that. And watching them celebrate? Man, it makes you appreciate the grind, the fight, and what it means to finally lift that trophy.

Everyone's checking out the consensus mock draft, trying to figure out who's rising among the lottery selections. We already know AJ Dybantsa is officially in New York City, so you know where at least some of the draft conversations are happening. And don't even get me started on Free Agency. The numbers are dropping, and there are 20 key free agents who could totally change the landscape next season. We're talking about huge names here, with LeBron James and James Harden headlining that list. LeBron even gave a timeline on his retirement decision, so you know everyone's got their ears open for that. Oh, and if you haven't seen them yet, you gotta check out Victor Wembanyama's top plays from the 2026 Playoffs. Dude was dishing out huge rejections, vicious throwdowns, and clutch buckets all postseason. Castle's, Brunson's, and Harper's top plays were also epic, but Wembanyama's highlights? Pure madness.

So, the confetti has settled for the Knicks, but the NBA never sleeps. Next up, we've got the 2026 NBA Draft about to drop, and then it's full-on Free Agency chaos. Who's making the smart moves?
