OG Anunoby's Hamstring Gets the All Clear and the Knicks' Playoff Picture Just Got a Whole Lot Clearer

The New York Knicks got some huge news heading into Sunday's Game 4 against the Philadelphia 76ers: forward OG Anunoby has been upgraded to questionable after dealing with a hamstring injury. For a team trying to make a deep playoff run, getting your 28-year-old wing back in the lineup could be the difference between advancing and going home.

Anunoby's Been Everything to New York's Playoff Run

This isn't some role player we're talking about here. Anunoby has been absolutely vital to the Knicks' postseason success, averaging 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game. That's the kind of two-way production you need when you're chasing a championship. Losing him would have been a massive blow to New York's hopes.

What This Means for Sunday

Even without their full roster on the floor, the Knicks have shown they're operating on a different level than Philly right now. Jalen Brunson and company have been sharp, and if Anunoby can get back to full strength, New York is going to be even tougher to deal with in this series. The upgrade to questionable means there's real hope he suits up for Game 4 at the Sixers, and that changes the dynamic entirely.
