President Trump Snubs World Cup Opener in LA, And His Six-Word Message To The USMNT Is WILD.

Alright, Seattle, listen up, because the World Cup is finally HERE, and our USMNT is kicking things off against Paraguay in Los Angeles. Everyone's hyped to see the boys hit the pitch, especially at SoFi Stadium, right? Well, get ready for a twist. While the whole country's focused on the match, President Donald Trump won't actually be in the stands for the opener tonight. Yeah, you read that right. He's skipping out on the biggest game on home soil. BUT, that's not even the wildest part of this story.

The Call That Nobody Expected

So, while he's not making the trip to LA, President Trump actually reached out to the team with a phone call on Thursday night. Talk about a curveball, huh? The boys were getting ready for their massive opening game, probably focused on tactics and soaking up the World Cup vibes, and then their phones ring with a call from the White House. This wasn't some quick, perfunctory thing either. He apparently spoke directly with the team, giving them a pep talk right before the pressure cooker of the World Cup opener.

"Have Some Fun!" and a Shout-Out to Coach Poch

What did the President even say? According to Fox Sports' Jenny Taft, Trump dropped some classic lines, telling the players, "We're all rooting for you. The pressure is gone. Have some fun." Can you believe that? "The pressure is gone." In a World Cup opener? That's a bold statement, and honestly, a unique way to fire up a squad. The team was clearly buzzing about it too, because they later shared a clip of the call on social media. And get this: Trump even singled out coach Mauricio Pochettino, calling him a "fantastic guy." It's one thing to call the team, but to give a direct shout-out to the coach like that? That's gotta feel pretty good for Pochettino and the whole squad as they step onto that massive stage. So, while the President is missing in action at SoFi, his words definitely made an impact. Our USMNT has their work cut out for them, starting their World Cup journey right now. They've got the whole nation pulling for them, and now, apparently, a direct line from the top. Let's get behind our guys and hope they take that "have some fun" message to heart and dominate the field. Go USA!
