Sam Darnold is Running for President and Seattle Fans Need to Hear It

Alright 12s, you gotta hear this. I was just scrolling through the latest sports buzz, trying to catch up on what’s shaking down in the league, when I saw something that made me do a serious double-take. Our guy, the Seahawks' very own quarterback Sam Darnold, is apparently dabbling in politics. Or at least, that’s what the headlines are saying! Seriously, one of the top tidbits out there right now is "Maye & Darnold Run for School President." What in the Emerald City is going on?!

Our QB, The Aspiring Politician?!

I’m still trying to process this. Sam Darnold, running for school president? It's buried in the "Bulletin Board Material" section of all places, right next to another wild headline, "Scared Straight with Sam Darnold." My first thought was, is this some kind of deep fake? Some crazy off-season bit? But it's right there in the feeds. We expected to be talking about his early season form, maybe some new play calls from Coach Macdonald and OC Fleury, or how he's connecting with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Rashid Shaheed. Instead, we're talking about campus elections and "scared straight" segments? This is definitely not the "Around the NFL" news I was anticipating for our quarterback, but hey, it's Sam Darnold we're talking about, so maybe we should expect the unexpected!

Beyond the Darnold Debacle: What Else Is Buzzing?

While our minds reel from Darnold’s surprising extracurriculars, there’s still plenty of other action across the sports world. In MLB, the bats are swinging, with games like the Reds topping the Yankees 4-1, and the Brew

ers taking down the Braves 9-4. You also see the Orioles beating the Dodgers 2-0 early on. It just reminds you that our Mariners are out there battling, too. We’re always keeping an eye on those "Trade Targets to Beware" headlines, and constantly "Reevaluating All 30 Teams" to see who's really making a statement. You know our M's are looking for that edge, for those "Prospects With Future 30-Homer Potential" who can really make a difference as the season progresses. Every win counts, every pitch matters, and you know we’re watching every single one of those "Top MLB Highlights" wondering what our guys are going to pull off next.

NHL Rumors and What's Next for Seattle Sports

Over in the NHL, the rumor mill is already churning with "BS Meter on NHL Rumors" and "Bo Byram Trade Destinations" getting hockey fans riled up. For our Kraken, it's always about how Matty Beniers, Jordan Eberle, and Joey Daccord are leading the charge. While the source mentions the overall "Every Team's Biggest Offseason Questions," for us, it's all about what our boys are doing on the ice at Climate Pledge Arena. We're in the regular season now, and every shift, every save, every goal is about building momentum. As for what’s next, well, we’ll be glued to every game for the Seahawks, Kraken, and Mariners. We don't have the specific schedule for their next matchups in this round-up, but you know what's at stake: building solid form early in the season, getting those key wins, and showing everyone in the league what Seattle sports are all about. And maybe, just maybe, Sam Darnold will clarify this whole "school president" thing. Go Hawks, Go Kraken, Go M's!
