Shohei Ohtani's ERA Now Sits at 0.82 and the Dodgers Are Done Losing

The Los Angeles Dodgers are back on track, and it's because their ace is pitching like someone from a different sport altogether. Shohei Ohtani blanked the San Francisco Giants to snap a four-game losing streak, lowering his ERA to an absolutely ridiculous 0.82 in the process. Yeah, you read that right. We're talking about a pitcher who is basically untouchable right now.

Ohtani's Numbers Are Getting Harder to Ignore

An ERA of 0.82 this deep into the season is the kind of number that makes you stop and ask what you're actually watching. Ohtani didn't just pitch well against the Giants, he was dominant. The Dodgers needed a response after dropping four straight, and their best player answered the bell in the biggest way possible. This is the kind of performance that puts the rest of the league on notice.

The Dodgers Needed This Win

Four losses in a row will test any team's confidence, but Los Angeles got the shutout victory they needed. When your ace can lock down the opposition like Ohtani did on this night, the rest of the lineup gets breathing room to figure things out. The Giants had no answer for what he was throwing, and the Dodgers came away with a clean sheet.

This is the kind of win that feels like a turning point. Ohtani's elite performance gives Los Angeles something to build on as they look to put that rough stretch behind them. In baseball, sometimes all you need is one dominant outing from your ace to flip the script, and that's exactly what happened here.
