The 12s Are Not Ready For THIS Wild Wednesday Night Opener at Lumen Field

Hold UP, 12s! You know how we bleed green and blue, right? We live for Sundays at Lumen Field, but guess what? The NFL just dropped our 2026 schedule, and our beloved Seahawks are kicking off the entire darn regular season on a WEDNESDAY NIGHT. Yeah, you read that right. Wednesday night! And it's not just any game, we're hosting the New England Patriots, and it's gonna be nationally televised. Get ready for some prime time action, Emerald City, because this is wild!

Who Are These Patriots We're Facing?

So who's coming to Lumen Field to face our Hawks under those Wednesday night lights? It's the New England Patriots, and from what we're hearing, they're already buzzing. Their head coach, Mike Vrabel, is back with the team "in full force" after missing the end of the NFL Draft for some counseling. Sounds like he's ready to go. And their young quarterback, Drake Maye, told the media he's "trying to take it to the next level" as they ramp up their Organized Team Activities.

These guys are getting their reps in, fresh off coaching elementary schoolers in football drills with their Chairman Robert Kraft. Players like Milton Williams and Andy Borregales are also making media appearances. The Patriots are set for six nationally televised games this season, but our game, right here in Seattle, is their big kickoff. They're hitting the practice field for OTAs and getting their squad ready, so we know they'll be primed for their season opener.

Lumen Field Will Be ELECTRIC for This Opener

A Wednesday night opener? That's an absolute game-changer, and it means the entire league will have their eyes on Lumen Field for our first taste of 2026 action. You know what that means, 12s: we gotta bring the noise like never before! Imagine that prime time spotlight, the roar of the crowd, the anticipation building all week for a WEDNESDAY night. Our guys, led by Sam Darnold at QB, with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp, and Rashid Shaheed ready to light up the field, are gonna be fired up.

Head Coach Mike Macdonald and OC Brian Fleury will have them prepped to make a massive statement right out of the gate. This isn't just a game, it's the start of our season, the absolute first chance to show everyone what this new-look team is made of and set the tone for what we hope will be an incredible run. The Patriots might be getting "in full force" with their Vrabel and Maye, along with guys like Milton Williams and Andy Borregales in camp, but our city is ALWAYS in full force for game day! The energy in the Emerald City that night is going to be something else, you wait.

So mark your calendars, clear your Wednesday nights, and get those jerseys ready. The 2026 NFL season kicks off at Lumen Field against the Patriots, and it's going to be a prime time spectacle. This is our chance, right from day one, to set the tone for the whole season. Let's show the world why the 12s are the best fans in football. GO HAWKS!
