Connecticut's Gone: The WNBA's Map Just Got Blown Up

Can you believe this? The WNBA and NBA just greenlit a massive shake-up, approving the sale of the Connecticut Sun! Yeah, you heard that right, the Sun are officially on the move. Tilman J. Fertitta, the new owner, is pulling them out of Connecticut and dropping them straight into Houston, starting in 2027. This isn't just a minor tweak, people. This is a seismic shift for the league. Think about it: a whole new market getting a team, another city lighting up with WNBA action. It's huge for the future of women's basketball, but man, it's gotta sting for the fans in Connecticut. Imagine if one of our own teams, like the Kraken or the Sounders, suddenly announced they were packing up shop and heading somewhere else. The thought alone is gut-wrenching, right? This move means the league is growing, expanding its footprint, and setting up a whole new dynamic for the next few seasons. It shifts the rivalries, the travel, everything. What a moment for the WNBA, whether you love the move or not, you can't ignore it.

A Legend's Moment and Games You Can't Miss

But wait, there's more! While the league is busy playing musical chairs with entire franchises, they're also taking time to honor their legends. The Sparks are set to unveil a statue for the one and only Lisa Leslie at Crypto.com Arena. Talk about giving a true icon her flowers! This is the kind of recognition our heroes deserve. And speaking of icons, the action on the court is already delivering. Tonight, Prime is serving up a doubleheader you absolutely cannot miss.
