The NFL Owners Are Voting Minneapolis for 2028 and Seattle Fans Have Questions

Okay, Seattle, you ready for this? ESPN reported Monday that NFL owners are expected to vote Tuesday to confirm Minneapolis as the host city for the 2028 NFL Draft. Yeah, you heard that right, Minneapolis. The league just keeps overlooking the Emerald City for one of its premier events, and frankly, it's getting harder to ignore.

Another Draft, Another Missed Opportunity for the 12s?

We saw the 2026 draft go down in Pittsburgh last month, and now Minneapolis gets the spotlight for 2028. It feels like the league is continually passing over the Emerald City, and it's frustrating. Our city is a football Mecca. Imagine the draft right here, nestled against the stunning Puget Sound, with the legendary 12s bringing unmatched energy to every single pick. Our fans would make it an event, not just another stop. The atmosphere at Lumen Field on game day is electric, and that same passion would spill out across downtown. We’re talking about an entire city that bleeds blue and green, ready to welcome the world. The owners voting Tuesday are making a choice, and they're choosing to miss out on an unforgettable Seattle experience.

Our Hawks Are Grinding, What About the League's Vision?

It makes you wonder where Seattle fits into the league's grand plans when decisions like this are made. While the suits are picking future draft sites, our Seahawks are on the field, grinding hard every week. It's early in the regular season, and we're watching Coach Mike Macdonald and OC Brian Fleury dial things in. Sam Darnold is working to connect with our explosive receiving corps: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and the veteran Cooper Kupp. This is when teams start to show who they really are, building chemistry and momentum. We're focused on every snap, every drive, every crucial play. A city that supports its team with this much fire deserves to host the league's biggest events. We're not just a market, we're a community, a culture. We've earned the right to have the NFL Draft here, celebrating future stars right on our turf. So, yeah, while the NFL confirms their next draft destination far from home, we'll keep our eyes locked on our Seahawks. We've got a whole regular season ahead, packed with battles. Every game is a chance for Sam Darnold and the offense to light up the scoreboard, and for that defense under Macdonald to absolutely shut down opponents. What's truly at stake for us, the 12s? It's about showing the league, every week, that Seattle isn't just a place they *could* host an event, but a place they *should*. Let's make sure the league remembers who the 12s are by the end of this season, and maybe they'll wise up for 2029 or beyond.
