The Vikings Are About to Hire Their Next GM and They've Got Two Names Circled

The Minnesota Vikings are done waiting around. They've got their sights set on two proven front office guys and they're moving fast to lock in interviews, according to NFL Network. This is serious business for a franchise trying to turn things around, and the candidates they're targeting tell you everything about what they're looking for.

Two Names, One Mission

The Vikings have requested interviews with Dave Ziegler, the Tennessee Titans' assistant general manager, and Terrance Gray, the Buffalo Bills' assistant GM. Both guys have serious pedigree in this league. Ziegler spent time building rosters in New England from 2013-21, racking up three Super Bowl wins with the Patriots organization. He then took the Las Vegas Raiders GM job from 2022-23 before landing in Tennessee in 2025. Gray's been with the Bills since 2017 and just got promoted to assistant GM this past May. But here's the kicker: Gray actually worked as a college scout for the Vikings from 2006-16, so he already knows the system.

What Led to This Search

The Vikings fired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah after four years, and now Rob Brzezinski, the team's vice president of football operations, has been holding down the interim GM role. Brzezinski actually overlapped with Gray during Gray's time with Minnesota as a scout, so there's some familiarity in that building already.

The fact that they're reaching out to guys with championship experience and ties to elite organizations says a lot. Minnesota's not just looking for anybody. They want someone who's proven they can build a winning roster.

Watch this process unfold. One of these two guys could be running the Vikings' draft and free agency moves by the time training camp rolls around.
