What an Ad Blocker Actually Means For Our Sports Updates in the Emerald City
Alright, Seattle fam, you know we live and breathe for our teams. Every single game, every big play, we're there. But sometimes, even the most passionate fan gets sidelined by the unexpected. And today, let me tell you, it wasn't a bad call or a missed shot. It was an ad blocker, and it just held our sports updates hostage. Our Local News, Held Hostage
We were trying to check out some real local sports news, hitting up the Central Washington University Athletics site, looking for the scoop. You want the top stories, right? You want the schedule, the events, the results, the awards. We were ready for it all! But instead of the deep dive we crave, we got smacked with a big, fat "Ad Blocker Detected" message. Can you believe it? We're just trying to get our fix, trying to see what's happening across our region. The Frustration is Real
It literally said, "The use of software that blocks ads hinders our ability to serve you the content you came here to enjoy." Seriously? We're just trying to get our fix! We want to know who made the 2026 Central Washington Athletic All-Conference selections. We want to read those stories, see those results. It's beyond frustrating when you're just trying to support local athletics, even college level, and you can't even get to the content you're looking for. This is a tough pill to swallow when you're hyped for any and all sports news. So, if you're out there, trying to get your sports info, maybe give that ad blocker a break. We need to see what's happening, what's developing. We live for the updates, for the stories that make us cheer. Let's make sure we can actually get to them next time, no digital roadblocks allowed. We'll be back as soon as we can get to the *actual* news, because our thirst for Seattle sports, from the pros to the local college standouts, never quits.🐦 What fans are saying on X
