Our squad is here, they're performing, and they mean business.

Zia Cooke's Epic Night: A Season-Defining Statement?

Seriously, Zia Cooke just blew the roof off the place! We're talking about a *career-high* 25 points in a single game. Twenty-five! That's not just a good night, that's a monumental performance that tells you everything you need to know about her potential. And get this: she scored an insane 16 of those points in the first half alone. Sixteen points before the break! That kind of explosive start sets an undeniable tone and shows exactly what kind of offensive firepower we're unleashing this season. When a player catches fire like that, especially in the early stages of a competitive WNBA season, it’s a massive boost for team confidence and signals a new level of play. This wasn't a fluke, this was a player absolutely locked in, making a huge statement for herself and for the entire Storm organization.

Flau'jae Johnson's Breakthrough Performance Fuels the Fire

And as if Zia Cooke's heroics weren't enough, our rookie, Flau'jae Johnson, came through with her best game of the season. You love to see it! That's the kind of growth and development that gets you hyped for the future. Johnson stepping up alongside Cooke's career night means we're not relying on just one star; we've got multiple players showing they can deliver when it matters. This is crucial for early season form, showing that the team is deep, adaptable, and dangerous. When your rising talent finds their rhythm like this, it makes the Storm incredibly tough to scout and even tougher to stop. It's a testament to the team's chemistry and coaching that our players are gelling and performing at peak levels already. What a performance, Seattle! That 77-59 victory over the Connecticut Sun, propelled by Zia Cooke's electrifying 25-point career night and Flau'jae Johnson's best game yet, is exactly the kind of win we need to build serious momentum. This is what you watch for in the early part of the season: players breaking out, showing what they're capable of, and proving that this team is a force.
