Brittany Mahomes Just Won a Massive Award and She's Making Patrick Look Like the Understudy
She might not make the highlight reels like her husband, but Brittany Mahomes is racking up hardware at a pace that's turning heads across Kansas City. Just when you thought her Hall of Fame induction from the University of Texas at Tyler Athletics was the peak of her accolades, she landed another huge honor that proves she's way more than just a coach's wife.
From College Legend to Women's Sports Icon
Back in March, Mahomes got the call from her alma mater. The University of Texas at Tyler inducted her into their Athletics Hall of Fame off the back of a record-setting college soccer career. Not bad. But that was just the appetizer.

Here's where it gets real: during United WE's 35th anniversary celebration at CPKC Stadium in May, Mahomes received the inaugural "Champion for Change" award. The honor recognized her impact with the Kansas City Current, the National Women's Soccer League team she co-owns with Patrick Mahomes. The award committee called her "one of the most impactful women figures in the city right now."
Mahomes posted about it on Instagram, and her words hit different. "Such an inspiring morning with United WE celebrating progress and influencing action," she wrote. "It was such an honor to receive the inaugural Champion for Change award in the stadium that represents what it looks like when women's needs are prioritized in sports and in the workplace. No better place to celebrate women than a stadium built for women!"
The Team Behind the Award
The Current won the National Women's Soccer League Shield last season, and with owners like Brittany and Patrick at the helm, it's clear they're doing something right. Two major awards in two months for one person says everything you need to know about her influence in Kansas City right now.
