These young women have poured their hearts into the sport, and now they get to compete for state glory.

Panthers Prowl Towards State Title Hopes

The Colfax Panthers, hailing from District 9, have established themselves as a perennial powerhouse in 2B fastpitch. Under the guidance of veteran coach Emily Davis, the Panthers have cultivated a culture of disciplined hitting and lockdown defense. Their pitching ace, junior Sarah Jenkins, has been nothing short of dominant this season, baffling opposing hitters with her wicked curveball and pinpoint control. Jenkins' ability to consistently hit her spots and escape tough jams has been a cornerstone of Colfax's success, giving them a strong anchor in the circle. The Panthers' offense, known for its strategic small ball and timely power, ensures that every runner on base is a threat, making them a complete and dangerous team.

Bulldogs Unleash Offensive Firepower

Across the diamond, the River View Bulldogs from District 5 bring an equally compelling narrative to Yakima. Coached by the energetic David Lee, the Bulldogs are celebrated for their explosive offense and tenacious play. Leading their charge is senior slugger Maria Rodriguez, whose bat has been a terror for pitchers all year. Rodriguez's ability to drive in runs and ignite rallies has been instrumental in River View's journey to the state tournament. The Bulldogs play with an aggressive style, always looking to take the extra base and put pressure on their opponents' defense. Their resilience and never-say-die attitude have seen them overcome adversity throughout the season, preparing them for the intense atmosphere of the WIAA State Tournament.

A Battle for Early Momentum

This opening round contest is more than just a game; it is a declaration of intent for both programs. The winner will gain crucial momentum in the double-elimination bracket, setting the tone for their state title aspirations. Spectators can expect a chess match between Coach Davis's strategic Colfax squad and Coach Lee's hard-hitting River View Bulldogs. Every pitch, every swing, and every defensive play will carry immense weight as these dedicated athletes leave everything on the field.
