Former Penn State Star Kyle Vasey's World Shattered: Fiancée Killed in Cowardly Hit-and-Run

Man, I gotta be straight with you, this is one of those stories that just rips your gut out. We're all about the action on the field and court here, but sometimes real life hits different, and hard. Earlier this month in Colorado, former Penn State long snapper Kyle Vasey's life got flipped upside down in a second. His fiancée, Corinne More, was tragically killed, and Kyle himself was seriously injured in a brutal hit-and-run incident.

A Cowardly Act on a Quiet Walk

Can you even imagine? Kyle and Corinne were just out on a walk, minding their own business on the sidewalk when, according to CBS News and a GoFundMe set up by Kyle's parents, Bruce and Shelly, their lives changed forever. A pickup truck just negligently swerved off the road, plowing into them at around 45 mph. Think about that speed, hitting two innocent people on a sidewalk. And get this: the driver actually *turned around* to look at the wreckage he'd caused before, get this, *cowardly fleeing the scene*. Seriously, who does that? It wasn't just Kyle and Corinne either; another lady, Dianne Windes, was also hurt in this senseless mess. The driver, Adam Bauserman, was later caught by the police, thank goodness. But the kicker? Turns out, he was driving with a suspended license, which he got after a DUI. This guy had absolutely no business being on the road, period, and his actions cost Corinne her life.

Kyle's Unfathomable Fight Ahead

While Corinne was tragically taken from us, Kyle is in for the fight of his life. His parents shared on the GoFundMe that he suffered "multiple fractures" all over his body, including serious injuries to his ribs and spine. The poor guy has already gone through six surgeries, and you know that's just the start of a long, brutal road to recovery. For those who remember him, Kyle played for Penn State from 2014 to 2018, even starting the last two seasons as their long snapper. He was a recognized player too, winning the John Bruno Memorial Award in 2018 for being an outstanding member of special teams. He's a fighter, no doubt, but this is a whole different kind of battle. As for Bauserman, he's facing a stack of charges, including vehicular homicide, and multiple counts of failure to remain at the scene of an accident involving death and serious bodily injury. Justice needs to be served here, big time. For Kyle, our hearts go out to him and Corinne's family. It's a gut-wrenching reminder of how quickly life can change. He's got a long, hard journey ahead, both physically and emotionally. Let's send all the positive energy we can his way.
