Peter Schrager Is About To Get His Own ESPN Show and the Network's Daily Schedule Is Getting a Total Makeover

ESPN is making some seriously big moves with its daytime lineup, and Peter Schrager is right in the middle of it. According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, the network is planning to slot a Peter Schrager-hosted show into its 2 p.m. ET time slot, right after "The Pat McAfee Show" wraps up at 2 p.m.

This is part of a massive restructuring that kicked off after ESPN added McAfee's show to the daily rotation. The network already killed "Around the Horn" (which had aired at 5 p.m. and wrapped for good in May 2025), and now they're reshaping what comes next.

Here's What ESPN Is Planning

According to sources briefed on ESPN's plans, Schrager's show is the likely frontrunner for that 2 p.m. slot. Meanwhile, SportsCenter looks poised to land "Around the Horn's" old 5 p.m. time slot, riding strong ratings ever since it started airing there a year ago.

Schrager has been putting in serious work across ESPN's NFL coverage. He's been a regular on "Get Up," "NFL Live," and McAfee's program. He's even filled in as host of "Get Up," and that audition apparently convinced producers he could carry his own show.

Nothing's Official Yet

Here's the thing: ESPN isn't calling this done. The network said "no decisions are yet final" and declined to comment on the specifics. But the direction is pretty clear. Schrager has made an impression on the ESPN brass, and this could be the next big move in what's shaping up to be a completely different looking schedule.

Keep your eyes on this one. When ESPN officially announces, you'll know their afternoon slate just got a serious upgrade.
