Sam Darnold Is Making Headlines For Running For School President, and the Emerald City is Asking "What About Football?!"

Alright, Seattle, gather 'round. We're midway through June, the summer vibes are hitting, and you just know I'm glued to every sports headline out there. But when I scrolled past Bleacher Report today, looking for some real talk on our guys, I swear my jaw hit the floor. Seriously, the *one* thing directly involving a Seahawk on the national wire? It's a snippet under "Bulletin Board Material" that says "Maye & Darnold Run for School President 🗳️". Are you kidding me?! We're over here bleeding green and blue, desperate for actual football updates, and our quarterback is apparently campaigning for student body prez. This is wild, fam.

National Noise, Emerald City Silence: What's the Real Story?

The sports world is buzzing with all sorts of action, and it feels like we're constantly searching for where our teams fit in. You've got MLB teams out there with records like Milwaukee at 45-29, the Braves at 48-27, and the Yankees holding strong at 46-29. There's chatter about prospects with 30-homer potential and managers getting tossed, but where's the love for our Mariners? We wanna know about Julio Rodriguez crushing dingers, or Cal Raleigh's cannon arm behind the plate, not just the highlights from other

teams. It's tough when you're hyped for *your* squad, and the national spotlight feels a million miles away.

Darnold's "Presidential Bid" and the Unanswered Football Questions

Let's talk about this "School President" thing for a second. It's funny, sure, but it's also a glaring signal. As 12s, we're not worried about Sam Darnold's political aspirations. We want to hear about his chemistry with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, and Cooper Kupp. We want to know how Coach Macdonald and OC Brian Fleury are shaping this offense. It's June! We're past the draft hype, and we're just a couple of months from preseason. The silence on actual football performance for our Seahawks, while this kind of lighthearted headline pops up, is frustrating. We need to be talking about under-the-radar MVP candidates or important extensions for *our* players, not college campus elections. So what's next for us, Seattle? We keep watching, we keep cheering. We'll be looking for actual updates on our Seahawks and Mariners, crossing our fingers that the real stories about their grind, their talent, and their potential start making headlines soon. Forget the school president debates, let's get back to football and baseball, where the real leadership battles are fought on the field! We know what our guys are made of, and we're ready for the world to see it.
