Two Pro Bowl Linebackers' Kids Are Suiting Up for the Bears Right Now and It's Actually Happening

This is the kind of story you don't see coming. Josh Kreutz and Jai Williams grew up tossing a football around in somebody's backyard, probably never thinking twice about what the future held. Fast forward to right now, and they're both in Chicago Bears uniforms at Halas Hall this week. Childhood friends, same team, same locker room. That's the real deal.

Three Draft Picks Hit the Practice Field

The Bears got their rookie minicamp rolling Friday with their first of two non-contact practice sessions. The team's top three draft selections took center stage: safety Dillon Thieneman, offensive lineman Logan Jones, and tight end Sam Roush. All three stepped up to the media after the workout and talked about what it felt like to get out there and start learning the Bears way. These guys are the foundation Coach Ben Johnson is building with, and you could feel the energy just from them showing up ready to work.

Johnson's Got One Goal: Teach Them the Culture

Coach Ben Johnson made it crystal clear what he wants from this rookie minicamp. His main mission is to introduce these NFL prospects to the Bears' culture, their expectations, and their standards. It's not just about teaching X's and O's. It's about getting these young guys to understand what it means to put on that Bears jersey and represent this organization. That's how you build something that lasts.

The 2026 regular-season schedule drops Thursday, May 14, and the Bears' full slate will be live on ChicagoBears.com and the official app at 6:30 p.m. CT. New season, new chances, and these rookies will get their first look at what's waiting for them.
