West Virginia Survives Stanford in Overtime Thriller, Books Vegas Semifinal Spot

West Virginia just pulled off one of those games that had you on the edge of your couch the entire second half. The Mountaineers edged Stanford in overtime to punch their ticket to the semifinals in Vegas, and honestly, that's the kind of clutch performance that gets you talking about your team for weeks.

The OT Win That Sends West Virginia Dancing

When a game goes to overtime, everything changes. The margin for error shrinks to nothing, momentum swings on a single possession, and one team is going home while the other keeps playing. West Virginia made sure it wasn't them heading to the airport early. They got past Stanford in that do-or-die overtime period and advanced to the semifinals in Vegas, which means they're still very much alive in this tournament.

That's the kind of win that defines a season. Overtime games aren't supposed to be easy, and they sure weren't for West Virginia, but they found a way to get it done when it mattered most.

Vegas Awaits

Now West Virginia moves on to the semifinals in Vegas, one of the most electric tournament stages in college basketball. The Mountaineers earned their spot the hard way, gut-checking their way past a Stanford team that wasn't going to roll over. This is the tournament's biggest stage before the finals, and West Virginia is heading there with momentum and a statement win under their belt.

The Mountaineers are still dancing. Vegas is next.
