Your West Seattle Friday is Packed: Baseball, Theater, Live Music, and More
Spring is hitting West Seattle hard, and if you're looking for something to do tonight, you've got options everywhere. Whether you want to catch high school baseball, catch a show, or just grab a drink with live music, the neighborhood is firing on all cylinders this Friday.
High School Baseball and Softball Takes Center Stage
If you're a local sports fan, you need to know about what's happening at Nino Cantu Southwest Athletic Complex tonight. West Seattle HS takes on Seattle Prep at 3:30 pm in one baseball matchup, and then Chief Sealth IHS faces Nathan Hale at 7 pm. If baseball isn't your thing, West Seattle HS is hosting Ballard in softball at 4 pm at the same complex. It's a solid night to catch some local talent and support the kids playing ball right here in our community.

West Seattle High School's production of "The Sound of Music" hits closing night tonight with a 7 pm curtain at their campus on California SW. Fair warning: according to early reports, it's already sold out, so if you haven't grabbed tickets, you might be out of luck. But don't sleep on the other shows. ArtsWest is running their new speculative fiction play "Walden" at 7:30 pm over at their venue on California SW, and the Kenyon Hall Cabaret is hosting an all-ages drag show at 6:30 pm on 35th SW.
Music lovers have even more to work with. The Songwriters' Showcase at C & P Coffee runs 6 to 8 pm with no cover charge and all ages welcome. Live at the Skylark is bringing Summer Bedhead, Session 0, and Poysenberry starting at 8 pm (doors at 7, and this one is 21 and up). If you want something wilder, "Make It Loud" skating with live music from Sugar of a Down and Little Sister kicks off at 9 pm at Southgate Roller Rink for a $20 cover and $5 skates. That one is 21 and up too.
Everything Else Worth Your Time
Beyond the big stuff, the Southwest Seattle Historical Society is throwing their fundraising gala "Tides of History" tonight at 6 pm at Salty's on Alki, but that one sold out already. Open mic is happening at Admiral Pub at 6 pm if you want to test out some new material. And if you need a drink, Viscon Cellars is open 5 to 9 pm for wine and vibes.
