Jamie Sheriff has had a really interesting rookie season with the Seattle Seahawks. He was a preseason standout, and fans were really excited the first time the Seahawks signed him back onto the roster.
He was an undrafted rookie that recorded eight tackles, three sacks and 12 pressures in three games. After cutdowns, he did not make the Seahawks 53-man roster and the Carolina Panthers picked him up off waivers the next day.
Seattle signed Sheriff to the practice squad on September 13 and made his Seahawks' regular season debut as he was a gameday elevation for the Week 6 Thursday Night Football matchup vs. the 49ers where he played eight snaps on special teams. He was released from the practice squad on October 30 but is being brought back during the team's bye week.
The team released linebacker Michael Dowell earlier in the week.
